01Problem

Replacing diesel lighting towers without compromising on light, safety, or budget

  • Large-scale need. BMD needed large-volume temporary lighting plant to replace existing street lighting on the Moorebank Ave Upgrade Project.
  • Task lighting required. The solution also had to provide task lighting for ongoing construction works.
  • Diesel drawbacks. Traditional diesel lighting towers carried ongoing fuel costs, emissions, noise pollution, and frequent small engine services.
  • The brief: a reliable, low-cost lighting product that could operate at scale across the site.
02Solution

GP43K Metro and GP56K Eco solar lighting towers, deployed at scale

  • Zero diesel running costs. Solar-powered lighting towers removed fuel costs entirely from the equation.
  • Zero emissions, zero noise. No diesel engine running on site meant no emissions and no noise complaints.
  • Deployed at scale. Peak deployment reached 34 units operating simultaneously across the site.
  • Removed maintenance load. With diesel towers removed from site, 529 small engine services (and the associated safety exposure from labour movements) were eliminated entirely.
